Why a business printer needs the full driver
The OfficeJet Pro 9010 has four capabilities the basic driver cannot reach: the document feeder, duplex printing, fax, and network management. Install the basic package and you get simple printing — no scanning, no fax, no ADF, and no way to manage the printer over the network.
In an office where several PCs share the printer, install the full-feature driver on each machine so that everyone can scan and use duplex, rather than just print.
Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
If the printer stays in one place and there is a network cable available, Ethernet is the better choice. It is more stable, and it largely eliminates the "printer offline" errors that plague Wi-Fi printers. For a home or small setup, Wi-Fi is perfectly fine.
If you do stay on Wi-Fi and the printer keeps dropping offline, assigning it a static IP address on your router usually solves it — the problem is often that the printer's address keeps changing.
