Is the 520 driver the same as the 580?
No. The two printers are closely related and share a lot of hardware, but HP publishes a separate driver package for each model. Installing the 580 driver on a 520 will typically mean the printer is either not detected, or detected with features missing.
Check the exact model number printed on the front panel of the printer and download the matching package. It sounds obvious, but mismatched drivers are one of the most frequent causes of "printer not found".
